TV BRICS Joins BRICS Youth Innovation Summit 2025 as Official International Media Partner

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 2025
The South African BRICS Youth Association (SABYA) is pleased to announce that TV BRICS will serve as the Official International Media Partner for the BRICS Youth Innovation Summit 2025, taking place from 10–11 April at the Old Biscuit Mill Conferencing Venue in Cape Town, South Africa.
As part of the partnership, TV BRICS will provide extensive multilingual coverage of the event, including an official pre-event announcement and a post-event article featuring commentary from key speakers and photographic highlights. Content will be published on the TV BRICS website in Russian, English, Chinese, Portuguese, Arabic, and Spanish, and promoted via their social media platforms. With a partner network spanning over 100 media outlets across BRICS and Global South countries, the collaboration is set to amplify the summit’s message to an audience exceeding 1.5 billion people globally.
“Our collaboration with TV BRICS marks a moment for the summit. It allows us to extend the voices and ideas of young innovators far beyond the walls of the venue. Through this media partnership, we are not only celebrating youth innovation but also globalising it. We are proud to work with a media platform that shares our vision for inclusive development and cooperation across the Global South” says Raymond Matlala, Founder and Executive Chairman of SABYA.
The BRICS Youth Innovation Summit 2025 is a two-day gathering designed to spotlight the role of young people in shaping sustainable futures through technology. Hosted by SABYA under the theme “Innovation for the Future: Technology for Sustainability and Social Good,” the summit will convene youth entrepreneurs, policymakers, researchers, and creatives from BRICS nations and the wider Global South.
The programme includes high-level panel discussions, innovation pitch sessions, and hands-on workshops across four thematic focus areas: Food Security & Agricultural Resilience, Circular Economy, Artificial Intelligence for Social Good, and Digital Transformation for Economic Growth.
Among the confirmed speakers are:
- Raymond Matlala, Executive Chairman, SABYA
- Judith Nemadzinga-Tshabalala, Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour
- Sindisiwe Chikunga, Minister in the Presidency For Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities
- Tom Mkhwanazi, CEO, W&RSETA
- Lebogang Zulu, Chairperson, SA BRICS Women’s Business Alliance
- Mpho Mookapelo, CEO, Energy and Water SETA
- Hon. Thandi Moraka, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation
- Dr. Lebogang Mosupye-Semenya, Innovation Thought Leader.
The summit is not only a platform for dialogue but also a springboard for action. Through a youth-led pitching competition, selected participants will present their innovations to a panel of judges, with winners gaining access to mentorship, funding opportunities, and the chance to represent their projects at global forums such as the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum 2025.
Additionally, we are excited to bring on board the Youth Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which operates under the South African Chamber of Commerce, as the Co-Secretariat of Y20 South Africa. The Youth Chamber of Commerce and Industry will play a vital role in providing logistical, operational, and administrative support to ensure the effective implementation of Y20 South Africa’s initiatives.
