Y20 South Africa 2025 Official Announcement

The Youth 20 (Y20) South Africa 2025 is proud to officially announce the commencement of the preparations for the upcoming Y20 Summit, which will take place in South Africa, in August 2025.

As the official youth engagement group of the G20, Y20 serves as a global platform for young leaders to contribute policy recommendations and drive meaningful change. Under the theme: Youth Building Bridges:
Uniting for Solidarity, Championing Equality, Driving Sustainability.

Y20 South Africa 2025 will bring together youth leaders from G20 member states to deliberate on pressing global challenges and develop solutions that shape the future. The summit will focus on five key thematic areas:

• Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability – Green Horizons : Advocating for renewable energy, youth-led climate action, and a fair transition to a green economy.
• Inclusive Economic Growth and Employment – Pathways to Prosperity : Promoting entrepreneurship, job creation, and economic opportunities to ensure sustainable and inclusive growth.
• Al, Digital Innovation, Education, and the Future of Work – Innovate to Elevate : Building Skills for Tomorrow: Addressing the impact of digital transformation and artificial intelligence while equipping youth with future-ready skills.
• Meaningful Youth Engagement and Reforming Multilateralism for a Just Future : Strengthening youth participation in global governance and advocating for fair and inclusive decision-making.
• Inclusive Social Development and Fighting Inequality – Leaving No One Behind : Tackling social disparities, gender equality, and ensuring marginalized communities have access to opportunities.

The themes are informed by South Africa’s G20 priorities, the African Union Agenda 2063 and the United Nations Agenda 2030.
